At a glance

As Senior Credit Relationship Manager within Structured Finance and Portfolio Management, our stakeholders rely on you for their (portfolio) credit analyses and credit proposals. You will manage a portfolio of Financial Institution counterparties, both banks and non-banks. Our stakeholders choose us to act as their partner of business units and we facilitate their needs as efficiently as possible. 

Your job

As our Credit Relationship Manager, you will have your own portfolio of clients, consisting of several Financial Institution clients, monitoring credit risks and functioning as a ‘first line of defence’ in the credit process. 

You are responsible for:

  • the quality of the credit risk assessment and management of your portfolio
  • close cooperation with internal stakeholders, such as Credit Risk Financial Institutions, Financial Institutions Coverage, our Treasury department, Global Markets and Clearing
  • written (portfolio) credit reviews and proposals for your portfolio and if necessary, the credit proposals of fellow members of your team

In addition, you will support client onboarding and reviews of clients in the portfolio of the FI Credit Relationship Management team in close cooperation with Client Acceptance and Global Markets a.o.

Your working environment

You will be part of a team of 7 sector specialists of both juniors and seniors with a diverse cultural background. For the credit assessments, you will work closely together with local colleagues as well as colleagues abroad of Credit Risk, the relationship managers of Financial Institutions and dedicated product specialists within a.o. Global Markets, our Treasury department and our Clearing organisation. You will be dealing with a highly dynamic and interesting sector well integrated in the heart of ABN AMRO Bank. 

The FI Credit Relationship Management team is responsible for the management of credit lines for Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions as well as ABN AMRO subsidiaries, facilitating a.o. the use of Global Markets products, transactions of our Treasury and Loan Syndication/Risk Distribution. The team is also client owner of single product FI clients (predominantly Global Markets clients) and enables other (product) business units of the bank. The FI Credit Relationship Management team acts as a partner of business units and facilitates their client needs as efficiently as possible. 

The team is part of the Lending department within Structured Finance and Portfolio Management (SF&PM), together with a team that is specialised in lending products for Financial Institutions. Structured Finance and Portfolio Management is part of Corporate and Institutional Banking.

You will be reporting to the manager of FI Credit Relationship Management, Esther von Saher.

Your profile

To become our new Senior Credit Relationship Manager, you should be a team player with a structured and accurate way of working and good communication skills (fluent in English - written and verbal). You know how to add value by using your relevant FI expertise in areas like Global Markets and Risk and your understanding of the typical FI products and documentation (ISDA/CSA).

  • You’re capable of managing your FI client credit portfolio, and you quickly sense what our customer’s question is and how the bank can support. 
  • You are able to collect and analyse information (good Excel skills), problem-solve, and make credit analyses and credit proposals. 
  • You don’t get stuck with one area of responsibility over another and you’re able to adapt to changes and use them to your advantage.
  • You have strong learning capabilities and have a desire to develop (management) skills.

Next to this, we require:

  • Master’s degree
  • Relevant certificates / courses
