As (senior) Credit Analyst you will be responsible for the credit issuance, monitoring and analysis of the Energy/Renewables (a.o. Wind, Solar) Portfolio. Your job

As (sr) credit analyst you are working in a team of colleagues who make independent credit risk assessments. These help us to fully understand our clients’ businesses and their financing needs and include Business Risks, Financial Risks (Profitability, Balance Sheet (assets and liabilities/net worth), Cash Flow and projections, Structure Risks (group structure and facility structure, security and documentation) and Risk vs Reward. Based on the outcome of the assessment an independent credit advice is prepared, including, if desirable from a risk point of view, recommendations for change in structure, terms and conditions. Based on the credit advice, final decisions are taken by the team and/or relevant credit committees to whom you will present your view.The (sr) Credit Analyst is also a sparring partner for the colleagues from the business lines. There is daily contact about developments in the international (financial) markets that affect our existing clients, prospects and other new opportunities. If opportune, support is offered to the business in structuring new transactions by means of pre-wash meetings. The (sr) Credit Analyst also contributes to the training and coaching of (new) colleagues.

Your working environment

You will work  within Credit Risk Management C&IB that is comprised by five sector teams: 1) Financial Institutions, Clearing, Diamonds & Jewelry Clients (FI, Clearing, D&JC); 2) Large Corporate Clients, Private Banking International, Equity Participations and Counterparty Credit Risk; 3) Natural Resources/Energy/Base Materials Clients and Structured Finance; 4) Global Transportation & Logistics Clients and 5) Trade & Commodities Clients.It is an international environment with daily contact with teams of the bank in a.o. Amsterdam, New York, Singapore, Sao Paulo and Oslo. The department comprises ~ 60 colleagues. The teams (6-8 colleagues) are diverse in age and background and can be described as committed, passionate, open minded and hard working. Next to that it is envisaged to further empower our teams and to give room for personal growth.The following key elements are reflected in the job:

  • Involved in highly complex credit analysis/decisions for diversified portfolio of clients;
  • Active stakeholder management of the Business Line and of several Product departments like Project Finance, Export Finance, etc.
  • High exposure to Senior Management and Credit Committees within the bank;
  • Safeguarding the banks' moderate risk profile.

Your profile

We are looking for motivated, eager to learn and adaptive people. People that have proven analytical and (open) communication skills, enjoy working in an international context and environment as well as in a diverse team. Broad or specific knowledge of credit risk, credit structuring and financial analysis are a plus, and eagerness to learn is key. Establishing a good working relationship with the first line of defense is essential, however from time to time this can also entail saying no and engaging in intensive debates. The entire team is involved and committed to knowledge sharing and education and safeguarding risk awareness. We encourage own initiatives, and welcome new insights.Check your profile.

  • University/ Master degree in business management, economics or likewise;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience within a bank or financial institution; proven experience within the field of Natural Resources/Energy is a plus;
  • Thorough knowledge of credit risk, credit structuring, financial analysis, market (developments) and legal risk;
  • Experience with stakeholder management; organizational sensitive;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Strong team player;
  • Critical but open for debate
