The Clients & Markets Director acts as a Business Partner for the Markets community (e.g. Industry leaders, Go-to-Market leaders and (Global) Relationship Partners) and our Lines of Services in the field of account management, business development, proposal management, client experience support and thought leadership.

Director - Clients & Markets 

PwC is looking for a Director to lead the Clients & Markets Business Unit within our Internal Firm Services department (32-40 hours a week, based in Amsterdam). What does your work look like?

The Director Clients & Markets is responsible for a Clients & Markets Business Unit comprising approximately  60 employees, organized in 5 Clients & Markets teams. Each team has a Team Lead who is responsible for leading and coaching the specific team. The Director Clients & Markets reports directly to the Markets Leader in the Dutch board. The Clients & Markets Director acts as a Business Partner for the Markets community (e.g. Industry leaders, Go-to-Market leaders and (Global) Relationship Partners) and our Lines of Services in the field of account management, business development, proposal management, client experience support and thought leadership. Besides the Business Partner role the Clients & Markets Director will also actively lead the Business Development team. The Clients & Markets teams work closely with our three Lines of Service (Assurance, Tax, Advisory) in an agile manner, to successfully bring integrated solutions to the market and customers.

 Your main responsibilities include: 

  • Drive continuous improvement in executing our (internal) client relationship, Business Development and Go-to-Market strategy and approach; 
  • Drive our sales framework (i.e.Pursuit) and participate in commercial activities, to help deliver value on key business initiatives;
  • Represent our Clients & Markets department towards stakeholders within Internal Firm Services (i.e. Communication & Marketing, Finance, Risk & Regulatory), our business (Assurance, Tax, Advisory) and Europe / EMEA;
  • Act as a Team Lead for our Business Development team ;
  • Ensure alignment of Clients & Markets priorities with the overall PwC/Markets priorities and together with the other Team Leads define the contributions of the Clients & Markets teams; 
  • Take responsibility for the overall team utilisation and budget of the Clients & Markets department;
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, connection and continuous learning;
  • Empower Team Leads in leading the transition towards more consistent, connected and connected ways of working; 
  • Manage performance and career goals and stimulate the development of Team Leads. 

Furthermore, you are responsible to successfully drive the change and to develop  consistent ways of working and processes, clear agreements with the business and clear career paths within Clients & Markets. You ensure Clients & Markets has the right skills and (digital) competences. In addition, you stimulate an inclusive and diverse team culture in which everyone feels at home.

Who are you?

  • At least an academic background with at least 12 years relevant work experience in the field of marketing, business development, business or organizational science or (business) economics;
  • Experience with leading teams in a changing / dynamic environment; 
  • Extensive experience in the field of Sales and Business Development;
  • Experience in career development, coaching / mentoring and agile team environment;
  • Digital skills where you are aware of the latest (digital) trends and developments in the field of Business Development and Salesforce.
