We are looking for a development lead to join a team of driven engineers focused on upholding exceptional service and accessibility to Digital Workplace products for our colleagues world-wide. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping and developing our Platform Engineering team, ultimately elevating the quality of our products.

This job offers you a monthly salary between €5.000 and €7.000. depending on your experience. This is based on a 40-hour work week, excluding a 13th month and holiday allowance.

What you’re going to do

As a Development lead within the Platform Engineering team you will be responsible for defining the software development competence within our team, defining the development process and way of work, and training team members, acting as a coach and mentor. The mantra of an NN Group engineer is “you plan it, build it, test it, ship it, run it”. For this, you must work well in empowered product teams composed of people from engineering, product, operations and design.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Define software development standards and way of work
Mentor and coach developers, helping them to grow their technical and professional skills
Contribute to the development of best practices and processes within the team
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance
Design and implement reference architectures and guiding principles for our team
Collaborate with other developers to maintain and improve code quality
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends
Daily maintenance (ITSM) of managed (provisioning) platforms and tools

Main deliverables of the P&PE team are:

(Managed) Platforms and Tools to increase productivity of Digital Workplace engineers.
Provisioning of digital workplace resources such as mailboxes, software licenses and user accounts.
Risk monitoring and control automation.
Architecture deliverables such as reference architectures, standards and guidelines, designs, and security and compliance documentation.

Allowances for setting up your home office and for internet use

Required Experience

Experience in leading and mentoring development teams is a must
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
At least 7 years of experience in software development
Proficiency in C# or a similar programming language
Experience with Microsoft Azure and .NET technologies
Experience with cloud native languages e.g. Javascript, Python
Strong knowledge of web/API development, GIT, serverless technology, security, OWASP
Strong understanding of software design patterns, algorithms, and data structures
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Experience with Azure Platform as a Service is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch
